Perils of Hollywood’s Master Cleanse Diet, Lemon Detox Diet, etc.

Morning!

It does my heart good to see responsible bloggers alerting the public to the dangers of scams that involve colon cleansing. I just found the Dangers of Hollywood’s Master Cleanse Diet, Lemon Detox, Diet and it’s definitely worth reading! To wit:

… Raylen Sterling has hit upon a popular way to lose weight fast, but should you be concerned about doing the Lemon Detox Diet or Hollywood Master Cleanse Diet when Raylen Sterling is not a doctor, nor has he been to medical school?

The diet is essentially a ten day fast, with pre-determined drinks, primarily lemonade. But there is more to the Master Cleaner Diet than a lemonade fast. According to Mr. Sterling, the diet works by consuming large volumes of water, fiber, and some raw vegetables.

The Lemon Detox Diet sounds appealing, but there’s more to the diet than lemonade, water, and fiber combinations mentioned above …..MORE….

The article is replete with great information you need to know before you even consider any scams like Master Cleaning. Enjoy reading!

Want to lose weight? How many calories are you burning?

One of the best things you can do for your own personal weight loss journey is to just plain get moving. Exercise! It doesn’t have to be a lot to start out with, it doesn’t have to be a massive commitment…but taking that first step often is critical to moving the scale in the right direction.

Ever wonder just how many calories you’re burning when you’re walking, shoveling snow, building websites and the like? If so, enjoy the following:

For me, I’m finding that my heart rate goes ‘way up there whenever I practice my 100 karate front kicks and 100 karate side kicks and 100 karate round house kicks (I do these on Monday, Wednesday and Friday), and also during good ‘ole fashioned cardio.

What works best for you? You might be surprised.

Enjoy,

Broke 150 pounds in lat pulldowns, 110 in chest press and ….

Hi all,

Quick post before I call it a night – today we took the kids to the gym, and while my husband swam with them, I tackled the Cybex room. True, I’m still supposed to be in recovery week, but hey…I couldn’t wait to start lifting once again. Bad mom!

The good news is, I broke 110 pounds with the chest press and 150 pounds with the lat pulldown (yay!). Considering that when I first started with Cybex, I was at 55 pounds with the chest press and 90 pounds with the lat pulldown, I’m pretty pleased with my progress – this is 5 pounds more than I was able to do prior to the P90x recovery week. So I guess recovery ideas really do work!!

I’m also pretty happy with the idea that I do not let my age interfere with what I choose to achieve. I think this is common-sense wisdom – you’re only as old as your spirit is light. And right now, I feel kinda sorta like a feather. :)

Enjoy,

Want to shake your booty? Crunch Go Go really helps! review

Afternoon all,

One of the things I’m discovering since really getting back into shape/stretching/etc. is that my legs and hips can actually, ahem, move. This was quite startling to me, as I never had taken advantage of that before in my 20s!

In my search for getting in tune with my body, I came across:

This is “Crunch Go Go by Gypsy” and let me tell you, it’s one rocking, fun workout! I added it to my cardio routine because it teaches you not only how to shake your hips/shoulders, but also how to walk/strut/etc. the same way. Interestingly enough, this seems to have helped a chronic ache I used to have with my hips and legs, so obviously…. I’m sold on it. :) The added benefit of being able to move with confidence is also most beneficial as well.

Here are other places you can find reviews:

I was able to get my own copy of Crunch Cardio Go Go Fitness at a discount over at Kmart – it was only $9.99.

In short, if you’re looking to learn how to move your body sexily but don’t want to practice in front of others, this is a great workout to have.

Enjoy,

Magic Legs reviews and discounts – coupons for Leg Magic and more

Morning everyone,

Gotta love infomercials, yes indeed, one does. Sometimes it’s really difficult to keep in mind the official name of a particular product!

Take Leg Magic (otherwise known as Magic Legs). It looks like:

(and notice, some of the above have great discount savings!). Those I found for you on eBay. eBay, of course, is a super resource at which to buy Leg Magic, Magic Legs, heck, just about any kind of exercise product – the sad truth is, many of these items end up being glorified clothing hangers, and eventually, folks just decide to move them along.

I’ve also found Leg Magic at stores too! I’ve seen them at

Now! Here’s a nice secret – quite often, the above stores will offer coupons you can bring in for additional discounts. I used a 25% off coupon for my Perfect Pushups at Sports Authority once! And you can visit sites like Mr. Rebates and get additional money off.
What about the product itself? Does it really deliver? Here are some reviews you can check out:

Hope the above is useful!

Free P90x or P90x+ resources – How to find P90x Plus and Classic for free

Morning,

First – the good news – you can always get discounted P90x at eBay like so:

That’s what I did, and I’m beyond thrilled with my purchase. I also got the P90x Chinup bar there as well.

Now the bad news. I confess, I tried for quite awhile to get P90x for free. I personally wasn’t able to, but hey, you might! And here’s how.

First, check out your local Freecycle. This is an organization that lets you post about “items wanted” and “items you want to give away” for your own local neighborhood. I was able to get Taebo this way, and also mini-trampolines…but alas, not P90x. But who knows, there might be someone in your neighborhood who was given P90x and no longer wants it…and will give it to you for free.

Next, go to Craigslist. Search for your area. Then search to see if anyone is selling P90 at a discount or giving P90x away for free.

Next, have you heard of Book swaps? You can also find exercise/DVD swaps too! Consider:

These two sites might offer some relief.

And did you know that Amazon.com sometimes gives great discounts, as do their merchants? Here’s a Review of P90x there – for example, at the time of this writing, 4 sets were available for $135 instead of the list price. True, not free….but also true, better than retail.

Where else can you look for P90x for free? How about your local gym? There’s probably lots of folks who workout there who have invested in this – see if there’s a community bulletin board where you can post a WANTED ad for free.

Hope this helps! Bargains and such ARE out there…you simply have to go around looking for them.

Enjoy,

Barbara

Healing Touch – Important in family and friends

Morning all,

One of the most important things you can give your children (and spouses, and friends, and people who are important to you) is the gift of the healing touch.

What is that, I hear you ask? Well, ask a dozen different folks, and you’ll get a dozen different answers. I myself have my own brand of this, that has grown out of raising my family. My grandmother and parents passed it on to me.

For me, the healing touch encompasses many levels. You can perform it with just touch, or you can let your spirit animate your hands and lend energy and healing to the person you’re touching. The second form is very beneficial for physical and emotional healing; it gives the body focus and energy and rebuilds the person’s inner strength.

Using the healing touch is very different than massage. While you can heal with massage, mind you, I find the healing touch to be far more effective. Instead of using firm strokes, you use only the tips of your fingers and trace over various parts of the body. I tend to follow the energy meridians, and take great care to build upon each prior touch until I’ve reconstructed the entire energy flow.

This is superb for family and friends! I’ve rejuvenated my kids, energized my friends, and helped calm down family who was suffering from various sicknesses and the like. I think it enables both people (the healer and the recipient) to tap into the energies of the universe; I’m always surprised it’s not widely known.
