P90x Fitness Review – Xstretch, Week 6, Day 7 – Total Days – 42

Howdy,

Gosh, the XStretch is one of the most relaxing P90x workouts one can do. I really enjoy closing my weekend with it!

My body is getting more and more flexible (yay!). Hopefully that will translate into more and more ease with my other activities – karate, taebo, gym, etc.

One more week and then it’s recovery again! Wheeee!

P90x Review – Kenpo, Week 6, Day 6 – Total Days – 41

Morning!

Today’s P90x went by very quickly and smoothly. Karate kicks – can’t get a better cardio workout than that! I’m finding it to come along much more smoothly these days – it looks like my body is FINALLY getting the coordination I had wanted.

P90x Review – Legs Back, Week 6, Day 5 – Total Days – 40

Morning everyone,

I pressed PLAY later than usual today but as always, P90x delivered!

I find a lot of the bodyweight leg work (squats/etc.) to be really beneficial. I also include other bodyweight exercises too. And of course, the pullups are wondrous; I really have to get my P90x chinup bar installed!

P90x Review – Yoga X, Week 6, Day 4 – Total Days – 39

Evening everyone,

P90x as always delivers!
Today was Yoga X, and it truly was just what the doctor ordered – I was so stiff from working a bazillion hours today that it really was rather relaxing. Still difficult, mind you (some of the moves, that is) but overall, a truly super workout.

It’s amazing to realize I started life hating this DVD (called it Yoga Death!) and now enjoy it quite a lot. One never realizes quite how one will change as the days go by.

P90x Review – Back Biceps, Week 6, Day 3 – Total Days – 38

It’s been 38 days and let me tell you

P90x really has been delivering superbly!!

Back/biceps really gets the, well, back and biceps muscles completely fatigued if you push to your failure limit. It’s a great workout with which to start the morning.

I love anything that has to do with pullups, chinups, pushups and the like – it’s quite interesting to see how many ways you can use the same muscle in different positions/formations. I do like the results I’m seeing.

P90x Fitness Review – Plyo, Week 6, Day 2 – Total Days – 37

As always, P90x workouts rock!

I had to do some major rearranging of my schedules as I’m in super work mode, but it ended up treating me quite well. I’m getting much better at the “kick leg over chair movement”, most likely because whenever I need a break from the computer, I’ll do 20 or 40

front kicks on each leg

side kicks on each leg

crescent kicks on each leg

axe kicks on each leg

Methinks I’m getting ‘way more flexible. :)

P90x Fitness Review – Chest Shoulders Triceps, Week 6, Day 1 – Total Days – 36

Morning!

Well, today I pushed play at the normal time of 4:30am

and did Chest/Shoulders/Triceps. I think this DVD is FAR more killer than the first phase Chest/Arms or whatever it was…I’m still feeling the burn ‘way after completing it.

Bad news – I’ve lost my ability to do megaPushups! I must have slacked off on that – back in the summer, I could bash out 50 with no problem (okay, a bit of an effort, but I did reach 50). I have to work on that.

Good news – I didn’t bonk my face with the dumbbell during the behind-the-shoulders drop. Methinks that happened last week at this time. :)

P90x Review – Xstretch, Week 5, Day 7 – Total Days – 35

Okay, so I can’t count. :)

Yesterday was day 35 and I completed 5 weeks of P90x, yay!

I’ve dropped another 1/2 pound and energy wise, seem to be doing much better than when I started. Tomorrow is Back/Biceps; I remember from this week, it was utterly killer so I’m interested to see how it treats me again.

Comparing P90x to Cathe’s STS

Hi everyone,

Here’s an interesting thread I just came across – it compares P90x to Cathe’s STS system.

…Do you think STS is Cathe’s version of P90X?

Of course the programs are very different, but I do see a couple of similarities: heavy weight work, each takes about three months to complete, etc.

I’m not implying that Cathe is copying anything or that P90X is better than the other because P90X came out first….

I think it’s somewhat like it but different as well. Here’s what I see:…

Well, I see your point, but I think the difference are big, too.

P90X uses the same basic types of exercises through the entire series (push ups, pull ups and heavy weights). It’s very heavy on upperbody, fairly light on lower body (the Legs and Back workout is great, but it’s not heavy weights).

With Cathe you start with Muscle Endurance and end up with heavy weights – both upper and lower body. It actually sounds more logical to me (and I LOVE P90X) .…MORE…

It’s an interesting discussion – you should definitely check it out.

Enjoy,

Barbara

P90x Fitness Review – Kenpo, Week 5, Day 6 – Total Days – 33

Morning!

Today is Day 33 – wheeee!

So far, P90x has been treating me magnificently well.

Today was Kenpo, and as always, I found it most beneficial. It gives me a good karate workout that I can bring to the dojo when I work out; I’m finding myself getting better and better with the combinations.
